Winter White Sangria [cocktail recipe]

winter white sangria 4

Sangria’s are one of the easiest cocktails to make.  There are thousands of sangria variations that can work for every occasion.  The basic sangria is made up of red or white wine plus fruit juices, along with pieces of diced fruit. Check out my usual go-to Skinny Spiked Sangria. I love a good red sangria, but lately I’ve been into their much lighter white wine counterparts.  Just a few simple modifications can morph a refreshing Summer Sangria into a cozy Winter White Sangria.  I made up this amazing white wine sangria over the Christmas break at least 4 times because it was such a hit with our friends and family!  Here’s the recipe…

Winter White Sangria [cocktail recipe]
Quite possibly the best sangria I’ve ever tasted.

INGREDIENTS

  • One 750ML bottle of Pinot Grigio
  • 4 oz. vodka
  • 8 oz. (1 cup) White Pear Arbor Mist
  • 8 oz. (1 cup) Sprite Zero
  • 1/2 cup white pear juice
  • one 5 oz. can diced pears in syrup
  • 1/2 cup cranberries
  • one diced Macintosh apple
  • one diced green apple
  • fresh rosemary sprig for garnish

METHOD

Add all ingredients (except Sprite) together in a large pitcher.  Mixture can sit in fridge for up to 24 hours before serving, which allows the juices to marinate =).  Add Sprite and rosemary garnish just before serving.

Enjoy!

Simply replace the cranberries and rosemary garnish with raspberries and mint and you’ll have a refreshing Summer Sangria!

I left out a dish of fresh rosemary sprigs for garnishing each cocktail =)
