The Smashed Lime Skinny Margarita

I absolutely LOVE margaritas, but I don’t love 300+ calories per glass, and even worse, that nasty heartburn caused by loads of sugary sour mix.  I’ve remedied this problem by creating the best “skinny” margarita I’ve ever had-and I don’t like to honk my own horn but ”HONK HONK!” to the Smashed Lime Skinny-the delicious margarita with less than 150 calories per glass!

Smashed Lime Skinny Margarita

Ingredients

  • 1.5 oz of 100% blue agave tequila, I love Milagro Silver (make sure its 100% blue agave, other tequilas are diluted with extra sugar which cheapen the quality and ask for a headache),
  • .5 oz Triple Sec
  • 2 tsp of Agave Nectar
  • 1/2 cup club soda
  • 1/2 cup ice (for shaking)
  • 3 muddled lime wedges plus one sliver for garnish

Instructions

Muddle lime wedges and agave nectar until well juiced and pulp forms…

Add tequila, triple sec & ice, transfer to shaker and shake well for 30 seconds.  Add club soda, pour into glass of choice straining ice while doing so, DO allow some of the lime pulp to transfer into your drink-garnish with lime slice, now sit back, relax & enjoy the best skinny margarita you’ll ever have!
