I tried my very first Moscow Mule the other night after a good friend bought me the signature copper mugs for my wedding shower =) I love just about anything with ginger, and adding a little vodka doesn’t hurt either! After polishing off my first mule, I thought about sweetening my next batch up a bit…so I infused the vodka with apples and cherries to give it a light & fruity twist–it was perfection! I don’t think that was the cocktail talking either ;)…here’s my recipe for Apple + Cherry Moscow Mules!
Apple + Cherry Moscow Mule [cocktail recipe]
1.5 ounces vodka
1 tsp. simple syrup
Splash of fresh lime juice
1/2 cup ginger beer (I used Fentiman’s)
3-4 maraschino cherries (save one for garnish)
2 tbsp. diced apple (plus 2-3 apple wedges for garnish)
Mix vodka, simple syrup, lime juice, cherries and diced apple together in a cocktail shaker-add crushed ice. Shake vigorously for about a minute, this is infusing your vodka with a light fruit flavor–so, shake, shake, shake!
Pour vodka mixture (along with crushed ice) into a mule mug, top with ginger beer and garnish with a cherry & apple slice-enjoy!
