Anthro-Inspired Monogrammed Mugs [Tutorial]

It’s no secret that I love just about everything Anthropologie makes…the only problem is that I’d love to buy EVERYTHING.  Rather than spend my life savings on my Antho-wish list, I usually try to create my own DIY versions of my favorite finds =)

One of my latest projects was a fun set of DIY monogrammed mugs!  I used Deco Art’s Enamel and glass paint on these fabulous mugs, which were featured on the Deco Art blog.  Head on over to the Deco Art Blog to check out the tutorial!

Items needed :

  • Americana Gloss Enamels 2oz – Indian Turquoise
  • Americana Gloss Enamels 2oz – Citron Green
  • DecoArt Glass Paint Markers – Orange
  • Ceramic Mugs
  • Letter Stamps
  • downloadable PDF pattern

Instructions :

Start with two clean ceramic mugs, Deco Art Gloss Enamel Paint, Deco Art Glass Paint Marker, and letter stamps. Brush the enamel paint onto each letter, then stamp it onto the mug.

Chanel the artist in you and embellish the mug with different patterns and designs. I prefer simple (and the artist in me is basically non-existent!) so I chose to add simple orange polka-dots.

Once you’ve finished painting the mugs, let them sit for approx. 4 hours. This will allow the paint to cure. After the paint has cured, bake the mugs in the oven for 30 minutes at 325 degrees.

Your monogram mugs are now food safe and ready to use!
