12 Astonishing Natural Beauty Remedies {DIY Inspiration}

Happy Friday fellow Pickleer’s! I am SO looking forward to a nice relaxing (warm weather!) weekend. I think I shall begin my Friday night with a lovely Skinny Espresso Martini, and then squeeze in a few quick beauty treatments before heading out for the night. Now, I’m no beauty expert by any stretch but I do know one thing, if there’s a natural solution to remedy a beauty conundrum, I’m going to opt for it before heading out to the drug store. In the past, I’ve always found that natural home beauty remedies tend to be more effective than their man made counterparts, plus I feel better about using them (and they cost way less-bonus!) I’ve put together a quick reference guide of 12 of my favorite DIY Natural Home Beauty Remedies for all of the beautiful Pickleer’s out there!

Ready, set, BEAUTIFY…

1: Cellulite Be Gone Solution: Home Remedy

Why it works? Coffee grounds and olive oil for cellulite removal works wonders because of the stimulants in the caffeine. Caffeine dilates blood vessels and increases blood flow which can lend the skin a more firm, toned appearance.

2: Reduce Fine Lines & Crows Feet (Natural Remedy)

Why it works? Grapes contain natural oils and fruit acids that can help to tighten the skin, reducing the appearance of fine lines over time.

3: Reduce Puffy Eyes (Natural Remedy)

Why it works? Aside from the fact that egg whites are packed with protean and endless health benefits, according to the Natural Eye Care Website, “egg white is an astringent that acts to tighten pores and reduce puffiness under the eyes”. Egg white will help reduce inflammation and increase circulation too!

4: The Wrinkle Remedy (Natural Solution)

Why it works? Almonds are packed with omega-3 and other natural oils which boosts the amount of moisture your skin can hold which enables your skin to “plump out” wrinkles on it’s own. Honey is rich with vitamins & amino acids which nourish the skin; it also contains powerful antioxidants that fight free radicals and reverse aging.

5: Brighten Your Smile (Natural Solution)

Why it works? Baking soda is found in most toothpastes and whiteners, so its no surprise that it acts as a powerful tooth whitener, but did you know strawberries will enhance the whitening effect? Strawberries contain an enzyme called Malic acid. This organic acid acts like an astringent by removing surface stain of the teeth.

6: Banish Dark Eye Circles (Natural Remedy)

Why it works? The flavonoids in mint produce antioxidants that help in reducing free-radical damage caused to the cells of the eyes, thereby treating dark circles. So simple and amazing!

7: Heal Acne and Reduce Scars (Natural Remedy)

Why it works? Apple cider vinegar contains alpha-hydroxy acids that attack bacteria and help dry out blemishes. White tea contains natural antioxidants which help get rid of free radicals that build up in our skin.

8: Skin Clarifying Exfoliant (Natural Remedy)

Why it works?  The coconut oil base in this natural exfoliant it one of natures best moisturizers, while the granules in the sugar help sooth away dead skin and impurities.  The strawberries contain alpha hydroxy acid, salycilic acid, and tons of vitamin c which are excellent for your skin. Salycilic acid and alpha hydroxy acid help banish dead skin cells and make your pores smaller, while vitamin c slows the rate of free radical damage and brightens skin!

9: Treat Dry Skin (Natural Remedy)

Why it works?  Avocado is high-fat fruit which softens and moisturizes the skin.  Avacoda also contains vitamins A, D, and E, which hydrate and protect the skin.  Honey is rich with vitamins & amino acids which nourish the skin; it also contains powerful antioxidants that fight free radicals and reverse aging.

10: Shrink Large Pores (Natural Remedy)

Why it works? The egg white contains astringent properties that act to pull out waste and tighten pores as it dries.  The corn starch works to softens the skin.

11: Reduce Age Spots (Natural Remedy)

Why it works?  The acids onions contain have a fading effect similar to those in lemons.  These acids combined with the natural properties in apple cider vinegar help fade age spots.

12: Clarify Hair & Restore Shine (Natural Solution)

Why it works?  Apple cider vinegar has natural properties that help to restore & balance PH levels when applied to the scalp. The natural acids in the vinegar detoxify and strip away built up residue on hair.

The Littlest Things Make the Biggest Impact

It’s Valentines Day and love is beautiful, regardless of its shape or form.  Whether your celebrating the day with that special someone or treating yourself to something special, remember to savor the small things.

This year, I received a package in the mail from the Worlds Smallest Post Service.  It was the tiniest, cutest box I’ve ever seen and I have to say, the most meaningful.

Let me preface by telling you… I’ve always loved snails (and he knows that!), as an inside joke I’ve always drawn a swirly little snail named “Escargot”- silly I know, but Escargot always makes us smile…
