In addition to their natural air purification benefits, beeswax candles simply chic & fabulous. I’ve always seen them at fancy boutiques, yet never made the purchase because they tend to be pretty pricy! What I didn’t know was how simple it is to make beeswax candles at home! So, I purchased sheets of beeswax online and began rolling my own beeswax candles, now I’m absolutely obsessed…
DIY Hand Rolled Beeswax Taper Candles
MATERIALS
- 16″ sheets of natural beeswax, each sheet yields 4 candles (I purchased mine here)
- candle wicks (comes with beeswax sheets if you purchase here)
- scissors
METHOD
Use a pair of scissors to cut 4″ strips of beeswax. If you purchase 16″ sheets, you should get four taper candles from each sheet. I found that the 4″ width resulted in the perfect fit for standard tapper candle holders…
Cut your wick to the correct length for the height of your candle. I left approx. 1″ on the top for burning. Place the wick on one side of the beeswax sheet and roll the beeswax on top of it, covering the wick.
Continue to roll the beeswax over the wick until you reach the end…
Once you reach the end, lightly press the end of the beeswax sheet into the candle to secure it…
That it! Your DIY Beeswax Candles are now complete!
I made three colors, green, yellow & sea foam =)
I also cut smaller pieces of beeswax (approx. 3″) to make beeswax birthday candles!
The beeswax birthday candles came out so sweet!
I used them on top of the amazingly delicious Lemon Poppy Seed Ombre Cake I made for my mother’s birthday!
