With the cool, crisp weather rapidly approaching, I figured, what better time to experiment with some new Fall cocktails! I mixed around a few different things the other night and came up with something truly amazing. I mean, deliciously, mind blowing amazing (even the guys loved this one!). Before I started mixing, I knew I wanted a cocktail with a spicy apple flavor, yet light and freshening at the same time. I decided to use a base of champagne (or really any sparkling wine) and doctor it up with some apple liquor and spices…and then of course, fresh sliced apple! I ended up with a crisp, delightful Fall cocktail I’ve named The Spiked Cider Spritzer…
Just in time for the weekend too 😉
The Spiked Cider Spritzer [cocktail]
Serves 4 (for myself however, it only served 2 😉 )
INGREDIENTS
one bottle of champagne (or sparkling wine)
8 oz. Dr. McGillicuddy’s Apple Pie Schnappes
1/4 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp nutmeg
one apple cut into thin slices
METHOD
Pour champagne and apple schnappes into a tall pitcher, add cinnamon and nutmeg. Top with freshly sliced apples, chill for one hour.
Serve chilled (over ice if you prefer).
Oh I had the chance to try this and it is DELiCIOUS!!
I’m so excited that you are back, and even more thrilled that your babies are healthy! Congratulations, by the way….I know it’s late, but I’m so excited for you.
