Chic Yellow Chevron Side Table {before & after}

chevron side table inside

Chevron is my latest obsession.  When I found this antique Bombay side table {for under $20} at a local thrift shop I knew exactly what I wanted to do with it. I had Annie Sloan Old White and yellow chevron on my mind.

I got the table home and couldn’t get started on it’s transformation fast enough.  The inspiration for the chevron and color combination came from pieces I’ve seen at West Elm and Anthropologie.

The table is made by Bombay Furniture Co., so the quality is excellent.  Since the finish was still in great shape, I was able to apply the Annie Sloan chalk paint {in Old White} without any sanding.  Once the table dried, I hand painted the chevron using yellow acrylic furniture paint.  I did this freehand because I wanted the table to have an authentic, shabby appearance.

It took a little while to get the chevron just right, but I love the way it turned out-almost a vintage look.  Once the painting was complete, I applied the Annie Sloan clear wax top coat.

This adorable little table even has a hole in the back for cords =)

  1. Love it!
    Where can I get Annie Sloan chalk white paint? I want to repaint the dresser and nightstand in the guest room.

    1. Unfortunately, there’s no Annie Sloan retailer in NH or Maine =( The closest one is in Newburyport, MA. You could try to order it online…
